Lamar Jackson is scheduled for an MRI on his injured left ankle Monday, leaving the Ravens without a firm outlook for their quarterback after he exited Sunday’s 24-18 win over Tennessee. Baltimore has not announced a diagnosis or said whether Jackson will be available for its next game.
Jackson was hurt on a sack late in the first half and did not return. He had completed 15 of 20 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns, with Baltimore leading 24-7 at halftime. He also had 20 rushing yards before Tyler Huntley took over to start the third quarter.
The Ravens did not score after Jackson left, and Tennessee cut the deficit to six in the fourth. Baltimore held on by recovering the Titans’ ensuing onside kick. Huntley finished 8 of 9 for 63 yards as the Ravens moved to 3-1.
Coach Jesse Minter said after the game that the team did not yet know enough about the injury to provide an update. He acknowledged there had been discussion about Jackson returning, but the quarterback remained out. Jackson left the stadium in a walking boot, and NFL Network reported he was considered day-to-day. The MRI is expected to help clarify the injury; no recovery timeline has been announced.
The timing puts Jackson’s status in focus ahead of Baltimore’s Sunday night game at Atlanta on Oct. 11. The Ravens’ immediate concern is determining what the MRI shows and how Jackson responds, rather than assuming a return or an absence. Until the team provides more information, Huntley remains the next man up if Jackson cannot play.
